19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
